The role
As Revenue Accounting Manager you have the responsibility for operational and technical accounting aspects of the Company’s revenue streams, which include automotive direct- & after Sales and Energy revenues. You will be part of a team responsible for the accounting and reporting of EMEA Revenue, Cash & Accounts Receivable.

The Revenue Accounting Manager reports to the European Sr. Finance Manager Revenue & Accounts Receivable based in Amsterdam.Responsibilities
- Involvement in review and advising on contracts and upcoming sales orders and assess proper revenue recognition treatment prior to and once deals are finalized
- Initiate Accounting position papers for special Sales projects
- Provide necessary revenue recognition inputs to the Technical Accounting & SEC reporting team so that the financial statement reflects any required GAAP adjustments
- Manage the Revenue Accounting team
- Establish strong working relationships and partnership with Financial Services, Legal, Sales, and Delivery
- Responsible for the monthly revenue close, which includes review of transaction processing, approval of journal entries and account reconciliations and analysis of revenue and deferred revenue
- Exercise professional judgment & skepticism to determine appropriate action related to revenue-related transactions
- Lead continuous review and improvement of revenue systems and business processes which will shorten the closing cycle
- Assist in process improvements to further streamline revenue accounting process
- Prepare management reports including revenue analysis and metrics
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies and procedures to support the rapid growth and expansion of the company in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Interact with external and internal auditors quarterly and annually
- Monitor relevant US GAAP and SEC developments and international developments to ensure revenue recognition policies and procedures are in compliance
- Interact with the Global Revenue Accounting department
- Job requirements
- Masters Degree or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- 6+ years of International Accounting experience, Big 4 Public Accounting and corporate experience preferred
- 2 Years revenue recognition experience in professional services required
- Prior supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS revenue recognition pronouncements (ASC 605, ASC 606 & ASC 840)
- Proficient with Microsoft office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment
- Can manage multiple competing projects in a time sensitive manner
- Self-starter and with a proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability to partner well with all levels within the organization
- Experience with AX Dynamics or similar financial reporting package
