Tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop meaningful KPIs and reporting on business performance, providing deep insights and fact-based analysis, by means of: monthly performance (third party cost analysis, capital expenditure, cash), monthly forecasting, strategic update, annual plan, etc.;
- Driving improvement in disclosure of key metrics at Group level including: pricing, asset utilization, fixed / variable cost, chartering periods and commitments, backlog margin and project profitability (pre- and post-calculation). Think through from transaction level till consolidation at group level;
- Provides in-depth understanding of the business by driving conclusive analysis (no questions, but answers), translating variances in KPI’s and macro-economic information into actions;
- Monitoring effectiveness of improvement initiatives towards key stakeholders. Takes initiative to bring relevant financial issues to the attention of his/her relevant stakeholders;
- Benchmarks financial & cost performance with historical data / competitors;
- Sparring partner for the Group Controller, CFO, Investor Relations and Divisional Controllers on matters regarding financial planning and analysis. Performs forward-looking ad-hoc analysis, such as: project & strategy evaluation, scenario analysis, efficiency/effectiveness analysis, M&A, return on investment on capital expenditure;
- Support the process for the monthly Forecast process and preparation of gap analysis;
- Understands systems and tools. Contributes to quality, accuracy and integrity of information stored in our systems, enabling a single source of truth;
- Pro-actively participates in Group Control team meetings and contributes to their finance transformation. Implementation of a change management culture by challenging & replacing established processes and procedures where necessary;
- Specifically drives continuous process improvements with respect to reporting, (scenario) analysis, financial planning and business cases processes;
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
- De functie-eisen
- Relevant Academic background (Msc) with relevant professional qualification RC / CMA
- 5+ years working experience with financial control/BIG4 Advisory, preferably within an international environment;
- Good data analytics skills and ability to quickly learn how to use financial systems, they use Hyperion Finance Management;
- Intellectual capacity to digest complex information, see trends, able to look outside-in and with helicopter view, think in scenario’s and analysis through data;
- Takes ownership and is self-starter; pro-active and critical mindset;
- Advanced technical skills in Excel and PowerPoint;
- Ability to balance speed and accuracy;
- Continuously learns, improves and develops him/herself;
- Fluent in English.
