The function
As a Group Accounting & Reporting manager, you are responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and complete internal and external reporting of the consolidated results of the organisation and its segments. You are the knowledge holder on IFRS regulations and translate these into practical guidelines within the organization. You are the go-to specialist for questions from and advice to business units, the administrative organization, and various staff departments. You monitor relevant IFRS developments and lead complex accounting and reporting issues. You know what is needed for 'compliant external financial reporting.' In addition to the financial statements themselves, your role also focuses on proper financial accountability in adjacent domains, such as remuneration and EU Taxonomy reports. In all this, you are a key contact for the external Group auditor.

Collaboration: In this role, you collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including departments within the organization and the internal/external accountant, to ensure that financial reports are accurate and compliant.
You are responsible for the consolidation, information provision, and reporting of the financial data of the group. For your direct colleagues, other business and staff departments, and the internal and external auditor, you are the IFRS accounting & reporting specialist of the Group. You ensure the correct application of existing IFRSs and make adjustments where necessary. You lead new and more complex accounting and reporting issues and participate in multidisciplinary (improvement) projects, both within Finance and in adjacent reporting domains.
More specifically, as a Group Accounting & Reporting Manager, you are responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:
- You ensure proper consolidation and accountability of the results of the organisation and its various segments through control and analysis.
- You translate financial results into specifications and tables for period, quarterly, half-year, and annual reports and presentations.
- You provide presentations and workshops on (changes in) relevant laws and regulations such as IFRS and act as a point of contact and advisor for your colleagues. You also ensure an updated accounting policy handbook for the organisation.
- You handle more complex accounting and reporting issues, such as the annual goodwill impairment testing.
- You are responsible for preparing the annual accounts and are involved in the financial elements of reporting in adjacent domains, such as remuneration and EU Taxonomy reports
Your colleques:
As a Group IFRS Accounting & Reporting manager, you are part of the Group Reporting department. The department is divided into two specialized branches: one primarily focused on financial reporting, the other primarily focused on non-financial reporting and the realization of the integrated annual report.
The department is responsible for group consolidation and reporting, including managing the consolidation system. The department provides the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board with reliable financial information (according to IFRS) and non-financial information (according to CSRD) about the organisation.
You work closely with a fellow Group IFRS Accounting & Reporting team members. You have intensive contact with colleagues from other (staff) departments, both within and outside Finance. You lead the Financial Statements and related financial information in other parts of the annual report. You are also an important link for the external auditor
The requirements
You have extensive knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS) and considerable experience with consolidation activities within multinational environments. Preferably, you are a Registered Accountant or certified as ACA, CPA. You enjoy giving presentations and workshops on changing laws and regulations, such as IFRS, and act as a point of contact for colleagues. With 5-10 years of experience in financial reporting as a financial controller or Manager in a BIG 4, you are a crucial link in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the financial reports. You have excellent command of both Dutch (B2) and English, which is essential for effective communication within the international organization of our client.
In short, as a Group Accounting & Reporting Specialist, you recognize yourself in the following qualifications:
- A completed university degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Accountancy, which forms the basis for your in-depth knowledge of financial processes and reporting.
- 5-10 years of experience as a financial reporter or (registered) accountant, with demonstrable knowledge and experience with consolidation activities, valuation issues, and reporting requirements based on IFRS, proving your mastery of the financial field and ability to handle complex accounting issues.
- Preferably a Registered Accountant (ACA, CA(SA), CPA, RA), which further enhances your professional credibility and expertise.
- Knowledge of IFRS 16, IAS 36, IAS 37, IFRS 2
- Experience working in a multinational or international context, helping you navigate complex organizational structures and diverse cultural environments
- Knowledge of SAP BPC / SAP S/4 Hana is an advantage
This position is rewarded following scale 13 (max 113k al-in) based on a 37 hourly workweek. Hybrid working is possible.
