Datadriven Financial Controller 

International Corporate Lending Bank

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join an international credit bank specializing in corporate lending. This role combines traditional financial control responsibilities with advanced data analytics and regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, ensuring accurate financial oversight, compliance, and insightful analysis to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards (IFRS).
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.

Regulatory Reporting
- Oversee and deliver accurate reports to regulatory bodies (DNB, AFM).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and implement changes as needed.

Data Analysis & Insights
- Perform advanced data analysis to identify trends and support strategic decisions.
- Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI and SQL.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights.

Business Partnering
- Work closely with the CFO and VP Finance on financial strategy and planning.
- Provide analytical support for corporate lending portfolios and risk assessments.

Qualifications

Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

Experience:
- Minimum 4 years in Big 4 audit or advisory roles.
- At least 5 years in accounting, financial control, and data analytics within banking or corporate environments.
- Alternatively, a strong accounting professional who has evolved into a controller role with significant data expertise.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and advanced Excel.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and regulatory frameworks (DNB, AFM).

Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
 

Preferred Background

• Experience in international banking or corporate lending.
• Familiarity with risk management and capital adequacy reporting.
